America the Beautiful: Artefacts of the Anthropocene, depicts an imagined futuristic landscape informed by popular folklore and a conflation of native/non-native, exotic/naturalized, hybridity/homogeneity. Appropriated 1960s USDA agricultural propaganda posters serve as a physical and conceptual foundation for this mixed-media series, populated by a cast of characters, mythological landscapes, and fictional events where survival is inextricably linked to the culture and politics of land use.
